Airborne Sound Insulation....
A dodec speaker is used ot create white noise within the source room. The noise level is then measured in the source and receiver room. The corrected difference is the airborne sound insulation.
Impact Sound Insulation....
A tapper that drops standard weights 5 times a seoncd is placed wihtin the source room. The noise level is then measured in the receiver room. The corrected level is the impact sound insulation.
The airborne and impact sound insulations values are corrected by measuring the reverberation time within the receiver room and correcting it to a standard reveration time of 0.5 seconds.
